Social Permaculture

A group came together to bring attention to the social aspect of permaculture with the theme - Let us bring the "social" into the social permaculture - and followed the interactive speaking circle format. The sessions spanned over the three days of the convergence.

On the first day, the introduction was brief and to the point. Some key layers of social permaculture were discussed. The idea was for everyone to share their thoughts. This session was facilitated by Mukesh and Aamodh.

On the second day, two sessions were conducted. The first was facilitated by Phulmani and Vishak and inclined towards understanding the principles of permaculture through games and skits. The second session was a speaking circle to understand what is earth care, what is fair share, what is the legal, social, and cultural basis of land ownership and stewardship. What does belonging mean? Does human belong to land, or land to human, or both? This was facilitated by Dippak and Ridhi.

On the final day, Raya took a deep dive into the self and how it emanates into the society.
