Dr. Sai Bhaskar Reddy Nakka is an esteemed environmental and developmental professional with two decades of experience in various fields. Holding dual Master's degrees in Applied Geology and Geography, he earned his PhD focusing on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of polluted water at Patancheru Industrial Area, Sangareddy, India, which was one of the most polluted industrial areas in Asia. Dr. Nakka advocates open knowledge and opposes patenting technologies for the benefit of common people. His expertise lies in area of environment, climate change, disaster management, and agriculture. As Director of The Earth Center, Council for Green Revolution, he spearheads initiatives nurturing Earth Leadership. He pioneered biochar for soil management in India and designed innovative solutions including 'Good Stoves’. He is recognized as the top biomass cookstove designer.
Recognized for his prolific work, he's authored over 50 books and shares his expertise as a guest lecturer in universities and institutes. His core strengths encompass project management, advocacy, research, and community development in various fields, focusing on climate, environment, livelihoods, and disaster mitigation. Dr. Nakka has contributed his expertise to projects such as climate risk assessments and adaptation planning for Ramsar sites in India and multi-hazard assessments in Herat province, Afghanistan.
