Sourabh Gujar is a young architect, specializing in Natural Building and Permaculture design. He has been practicing indigenous architecture and builds with locally available techniques and naturally found materials like bamboo, mud, lime, wood, thatch, and stone. He has worked in diverse regions of India, including Darjeeling, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Pondicherry, Nainital, Noida, Delhi and has gained valuable insights into contextual design challenges. Over the past six years, he has contributed to projects ranging from cottages, open dining spaces, hostels, cafes, pavilions, animal shelters, to permaculture farms.
With experience living among the Nepali community in Darjeeling and as an alumnus of CGBMT, Bangalore, and BambooU, Bali, Sourabh has developed expertise in bamboo construction. He actively shares his knowledge of Natural Building through workshops, representing a life characterized by continual curiosity,compassion, and sensitivity toward natural ecosystems and indigenous cultures.
